Winter Percussion 2011 Show
Inspired by a true story, the 2011 Beyer Winter Percussion show is entitled "In a Room," an original composition by Nate Bourg and Shekhar Khedekar. The program is based around the story of a woman whose father survived a horrible event, and as she was growing up, he would never tell her the real story. As the father approaches the end of his life, his daughter needs to know what really happened. However, once he lets her "in the room" where he keeps his deepest secrets, she can never get out.
"In a Room" explores new emotional territory for Beyer: anxious questioning, grievous realizations, the bond between a father and daughter, the strength of the human spirit, and in the end, a touching, honest story about finding closure and moving forward.
Beyer will compete in the Central Valley Guard and Percussion Circuit (CVGPC) and Winter Guard International (WGI) between February and April, 2011. More about the Beyer Band & Color Guard program can be found at beyerband.org.
