An Extremely Successful Fall Season
December 4, 2009

What can be said about the 2009 season, except that it was successful beyond expectations? With forty rookies, thirty four freshmen and even three 8th graders, the Band and Color Guard of eighty-five members proved that no matter what, Beyer's traditions of excellence and hard work will always pay off. From the early days of band camp, the outstanding group of students showed promise, although their journey to a 2nd place finish in all of California for class A/AA/AAA was far from easy. In the end, the Band and Guard took sweepstakes at 4 out of 7 competitions, capping the season with a tie for Best General Effect (with Grand Champion Los Alamitos High School) and winning the Best Visual award. The many smiles from students, staff and parents on Sunday afternoon seemed to indicate a satisfaction with a job well-done, but more importantly, a high optimism for next year and the future of the Beyer program. Congratulations to all the students and staff for the accomplishments of 2009, and many thanks to the Beyer Band Boosters, the Blue Crew, the Beyer administration, and all of our fans and supporters. This was truly a memorable season, not soon to be forgotten!
