Band & Color Guard Staff

Shekhar Khedekar has been on the percussion staff for Beyer High School since the Fall season of 2004. Originally from West Hills, CA, he marched snare drum with the Conquistadors Youth Band (Moorpark, CA) in 1998, and moved on to the Sacramento Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps in 1999 and 2000. Shekhar concluded his drum corps career on snare drum with the six-time world champion Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps from 2001-2002. In addition to teaching at Beyer, Shekhar has been the percussion instructor for the UC Berkeley Marching Band since 2002. He has been instructed by Jim Casella, Murray Gusseck, David Reeves, Jeff Huffman, Jim Ragsdale, David Flores, Chris and Miles DaPrato, Kevin Goings, Bruce Fong and Dan Flores. Shekhar has a B.S. from UC Berkeley and a M.S. from UCLA, both in Mechanical Engineering. Currently, he lives in Berkeley, CA and works at a software company in San Rafael, CA.
